Jeffrey C. Ko has more than twenty two (22) years of experience as a business lawyer for local, national and international client matters, consultant and advisor to U.S. and international companies, corporate and individual investors, government leaders and agencies, non-profit organizations, royal family members, foundations and entrepreneurs.
Mr. Ko represents clients on complex domestic and international business transactions, including joint ventures, formation and development of new companies, real estate projects, urban and land development projects in Asia, international franchise projects, international business development, lease negotiations, drafting contracts, international trading of Iron Ore Products and Coal Products, Exclusive and Non-Exclusive Distributorship Agreements, international governmental projects, drafting and negotiating joint venture agreements, business negotiations and agreements, and collaboration with other law firms dealing with general civil and business litigation (in the U.S. and internationally).
Mr. Ko also represents Clients for major projects involving international business investment(s), development and management of high end resorts, hotels, marinas, cities, malls, shopping centers, major international franchise business expansions and opportunities, and international trading houses (that trade in commodities, electronic products, new invention(s), cosmetics products, appliances, Iron Ore Products, Steam Coal Products, Oil and Petroleum Products, raw materials, sugar, food items and paper products).
Mr. Ko has worked as an attorney, advisor and consultant with major national and international law firms, including Musick, Peeler & Garrett, Zobrist & McCullough (which merged with Carlsmith, Ball, Wichman, Case & Ichiki), Office of the United States Attorney's Office, the White House (in Washington D.C.), the California Governor's Office (in Sacramento, California), Los Angeles Mayor's Office, California Department of Economic and Business Development, California Majority Leader for the California State Senate, Lincoln Financial Group and the Los Angeles Board of Education.
Mr. Ko holds a Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) in International Relations and Diplomacy and World Affairs (D.W.A.) with emphasis in international business, public policy and finance from Occidental College in Los Angeles, California; a Master's Degree (M.P.A.) in Public Policy & Administration, with emphasis in management, public policy and international business from the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles, California; and a Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree (J.D.), with emphasis on business, tax and international law from the University of California (U.C.) at Hasting Law School in San Francisco, California.
Mr. Ko speaks conversation level Korean and Spanish. He has received numerous community awards, including The Wiley W. Manuel Award for Pro Bono Legal Services (given by the State Bar of California), the "Outstanding Community Award" from the City of Los Angeles, and the "Outstanding Service Award" from the Los Angeles Board of Education. Mr. Ko has traveled extensively and lived in many different parts of the world. Mr. Ko currently resides with his family in Orange County, California.
