Matthew Berliner represents clients in complex business, commercial and intellectual property disputes. His range of experience includes the litigation of unfair competition claims in various industries, trade secret disputes, commercial real estate claims, partnership disputes, consumer class actions, wrongful death and personal injury cases, and labor and employment matters. He also provides businesses with advice and counseling regarding their trademarks, patents, and other intellectual property rights. Matthew has represented a wide range of clients, including retailers, business partnerships, media companies, credit reporting agencies, internet companies, land developers, entrepreneurs, state and federal agencies, and private individuals. Matthew practiced law for seven years in national and international law firms, most recently with Jones Day. He has represented clients in arbitrations and other alternative dispute resolution forums, and has taken matters to trial in state and federal court in his career as a civil litigator. Recently Matthew successfully tried a two week jury trial in federal court and obtained a multi-million dollar verdict in his client's favor. Matthew also obtained an extremely favorable settlement in his client's favor in a catastrophic personal injury lawsuit where Matthew represented the plaintiff.
Matthew is a member of the Orange County Bar Association, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the Association of Business Trial Lawyers, and the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AILPA). Matthew was identified on the Los Angeles Times Magazine annual list of "Superlawyers—Rising Stars" for the last five years.
