Biography:
Robert Nacionales Tafoya’s practice focuses on the trial of complex and high stakes civil litigation. Mr. Tafoya has more than 10 years of trial experience and has tried more than 20 cases to verdict in the areas of high stakes product liability, wrongful termination, and various business disputes.
Prior to forming Tafoya & Garcia LLP, Mr. Tafoya was a successful trial lawyer at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld in Los Angeles. Mr. Tafoya started his legal career at Pillsbury Madison & Sutro (Los Angeles) and spent time as a Prosecutor at the City of Long Beach.
Mr. Tafoya earned his B.G.S., summa cum laude, from Northern Arizona University and his M.P.P. from the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy at the University of Michigan. Mr. Tafoya is a Woodrow Wilson Fellow and Rackam Merit Fellow. Mr. Tafoya earned his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School.
Mr. Tafoya served in the United States Navy aboard the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Kittyhawk (CV-63) in combat squadron VAW-116 stationed out of Mirimar Naval Air Station, San Diego, California from 1980 to 1984.
